From Hillview to Milton Keynes: A Divine Odyssey of Faith and Purpose

This is the story of my journey as a minister of the Gospel—a path that began at the Hillview Guest Centre, where I first pastored a campus of Empowerment Worship Centre (EWC). It is not a story of personal accomplishment but rather a reflection on humility, transformation, and the faithfulness of God.

My journey formally began after years of serving closely under the mentorship of my spiritual father, Prophet Gideon Danso, the Global Lead of Empowerment Worship Centre, for more than a decade. During that period, Prophet Gideon shared with us his vision of establishing campuses across the city and entrusted me with the leadership of the Adentan Campus.

He assembled a dedicated team around me, and though the decision to leave our headquarters—where every resource for growth was readily available—brought natural fears and uncertainties, each team member embraced the calling with unwavering faith and love.

The Hillview Chapter

Our search for a fitting venue eventually led us to the Hillview Guest Centre. After a brief but providential discussion with the hotel management, we secured the facility as the home of our campus. Plans were swiftly put in place, and on January 12, 2020, we held our maiden service.

Propel: Our First Conference

Soon after, we hosted our first major event, the Propel Conference, with Prophet Gideon Danso as the main speaker. It was more than just a gathering—it was a divine appointment. Prophet Gideon delivered a life-changing word on destiny, purpose, and divine acceleration.

The ripple effect was undeniable. What began as a conference became the launching pad for a spiritual revival within the community. In the weeks that followed, many new people joined the campus, drawn by the testimonies of those who attended Propel. Families that had been disconnected from church life found a new home at Empowerment Worship Centre, and young people discovered a place where their gifts could flourish.

The Change Conference: Lessons in Divine Flexibility

After several successful months, we prepared for our second major event—the Change Conference. Our dynamic branding team, led by Marvelous Arku, unveiled an inspiring campaign anchored on the theme: “Change is Coming, Change Has Come, Change is Here.”

The theme was more than a slogan; it symbolised a threefold journey of transformation—anticipating change, embracing its arrival, and living in the reality of it. It captured the very essence of what we believed God was about to do in the lives of His people.

Ironically, the Change Conference itself underwent multiple changes. The date shifted three times, and the venue changed twice—each alteration revealing God’s perfect timing.

The last date change came through Prophet Gideon’s prophetic insight. He called me directly, expressing that he spiritually sensed the need to adjust our timing. Initially, I hesitated, considering all the promotional materials already distributed—banners, posters, flyers—but knowing Prophet Gideon’s prophetic accuracy, I agreed. We moved the conference several weeks forward.

Remarkably, just one day before our original conference date, the Hillview management called an urgent meeting. I attended with Pastor Akesse Brempong and Pastor John Kennedy. They informed us that due to COVID-19 regulations, they could no longer accommodate our expected attendance numbers. God’s timing through Prophet Gideon’s guidance had spared us from potential cancellation.

The Change Conference not only transformed lives spiritually but also brought about a remarkable numerical increase in the church. The powerful messages, prophetic encounters, and atmosphere of revival ignited a fresh hunger for God in the community. In the weeks that followed, attendance surged as many new members joined the congregation.

The conference became a defining moment for the campus, shifting it from a small gathering into a thriving faith community, with steady growth both in numbers and in depth of commitment.

Multiplication and Growth

The momentum after the conference underscored the need for further expansion. Prophet Gideon reassigned me to establish the Achimota Campus, while Pastor John Kennedy ably took over the Adentan Campus, leading it into remarkable growth both spiritually and numerically.

Though the task was daunting, my wife’s steadfast support and the dedication of a few members enabled us to build Achimota into a beacon of hope and inspiration. In time, Pastor Curtis Nathaniel was appointed to lead the campus. With innovation and zeal, he not only expanded the work but also rebranded it as the Mo’City Campus, continuing its growth both quantitatively and qualitatively.

A New Chapter in the UK

After some years, the Lord impressed upon my heart the need to further my education. With Prophet Gideon’s blessing, I relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Essex. Since then, my wife and I have supported Pastor Joseph Stein and his wife, Genevieve, as they shepherd our London church with excellence and passion.

Now, the Lord has opened a new door. Today, I am privileged to plant a fresh Empowerment Worship Centre campus in Milton Keynes—one of the UK’s most vibrant and diverse cities, 50 miles northwest of London.

Why Milton Keynes?

Milton Keynes, with a population of over 290,000, is one of England’s fastest-growing cities and one of the most ethnically diverse outside London. Yet, over 111,000 of its residents currently report no religious affiliation. This represents a vast harvest field and an incredible opportunity to fulfill EWC’s global mandate: To win souls and prepare them for the soon coming of Christ.

Through the Milton Keynes campus, we will extend the church’s discipleship pathway—Born, Grow, Serve, Lead—to a community deeply in need of the Gospel’s hope and light.

Gratitude and Invitation

Looking back, my journey from Hillview to Milton Keynes has been marked not by personal strength, but by grace, favour, and the enduring love of God. I am profoundly grateful to my spiritual father, Prophet Gideon Danso, and his beautiful wife, Lady Gina Danso, for their vision, guidance, and trust.

Today, as we commence the Empowerment Worship Centre in Milton Keynes, my heart is full of expectation. To anyone in or around Milton Keynes, we are bringing EWC to your doorstep.
